How to Subscribe to ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro and Google AI Pro
You can pay for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok in three official ways: on the provider's website, through the App Store on an iPhone or iPad, or through Google Play on Android. The features are the same; what changes is who charges you, where you manage the subscription and which payment methods work.
Pick the channel that accepts the payment method you already have, and the one where you want to manage billing later. Switching channels means cancelling first and waiting for the paid period to end.

Before you upgrade
- Check that the product is available where you live. Each provider publishes a list of supported countries.
- Use your own account, with an email address you will keep, and sign in on the free plan first.
- Have a payment method that the channel accepts: a card enabled for online payments for the website, or a payment method or balance from your store account's country for the App Store or Google Play.
- Choose the tier you need. ChatGPT has Go, Plus and Pro; Claude has Pro and Max; Google AI has Plus, Pro and Ultra. Compare the official plan pages before you pay for a higher tier.
- Budget for sales tax or VAT, foreign transaction fees and exchange-rate differences on top of the list price.
- Turn on two-step verification for both the AI account and your app store account.
Subscribing on the website
- 1. Sign in to your account on the provider's website.
- 2. Open the upgrade or billing page and choose a plan and billing period. Check whether tax is added at checkout.
- 3. Enter your card details and billing address exactly as your bank has them.
- 4. Complete your bank's security check, such as a code by text message or a confirmation in your banking app.
- 5. Refresh the page to confirm the plan is active, and keep the receipt email.
Subscribing through the App Store
- 1. In Settings, check your Apple Account's country or region and its payment method or balance.
- 2. Install the official app (check the developer name) and sign in to your AI account.
- 3. Choose a plan on the app's upgrade screen; Apple shows its own payment sheet.
- 4. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your password.

Subscribing through Google Play

After you subscribe: renewals, cancelling and refunds
- Subscriptions renew automatically. If the card expires or the balance runs out, the renewal fails and the plan stops.
- Cancel where you paid. Deleting the app or not signing in does not stop the charges.
- Refunds for App Store and Google Play subscriptions are requested from Apple or Google; website subscriptions follow the provider's refund policy.
- To switch channels, cancel the old subscription and wait for the paid period to end before subscribing again, so you are not charged twice.
